Rick and I took a drive out to Bruneau Dunes for another attempt to get some good shots of the surroundings It was a very chilly morning, there was snow in places and as you can see in the picture some frosty dunes. As I was lookin around for a shot, I noticed something odd down at the bottom of the dune I was standing on. I walked down the side to find a knite glove laying in the sand, it the the making of a scary movie. The fingers were all stretched out and the sand had piled up a short ways from the oppening making it appear as though it could be attached to an arm. I figured I had better shoot it first before checking to see if infact there were some thing else besides the glove…. whew just a glove.
Rick and I walked part of the way around the lake to the base of the big dune, all I can say is, wholly big pile of dirt Bat Man! Its not until you are actually standing at the base of the dune that you can truly apprciate how big it really is….. WOW!
Next Rick and I drove out to Bruneau Canyon Overlook. The road starts out paved and then about 15 miles later one sees a sign that reads "Air Force bombing range, things may fall from aircraft", is it me or does that not sound good? Continuing on, we come to a dead end in the road that presents the view of the Bruneau River at the bottom of the deepest.. sheer wall.. straight down gorge I have ever seen…. WOW! There was a golden eagle soaring over the gorge so efforlessly, riding on the wind and dissapearing in the distance. I will have to go back there someday when the haze in the valley is gone so that I can get some good shots, it was really pretty bad, but the view of the gorge was awe inspiring, the power of water is truly on display here.
On another Note…. It will be interesting to see what happens with North Korea now that Kim Jong Il is gone, at this point it could go eighter way. I pray for its people and that the new leader is not like Kim Jong. Lets pray that this new guys is a bit more friendly and wants to truly help his people instead of lying to them and keeping them subserviant to a deceiving dictator.
The new UE president is already harping on Israel to move forward with the peace process or it will block deals with them. This guy has not even started yet and he is already asking Israel to make peace with an enemy that want to destroy her. Let me see, isnt there more things he should be concered with, like….I dont know….his own country and getting things working there. Fear not Mr. EU president, peace is coming and it will last 1000 years as is promised by their Messiah and there is nothing you can do about it.
